Last night was a blur of happy amazing positive feelings for me.
When I was in New York, and got the chance to meet Carmen Carrara, I remember saying out loud to friends, “If I somehow find a way to meet Laverne Cox as well this year, my life will be made.”
Not even a week later, Danielle had tickets for us to see Laverne on her campus tour, performing “My Journey to Womanhood”. And not only that, but Melissa was a darling angel and got us VIP passes to meet her after the show.
I feel very grateful to have been given the opportunity to meet Laverne and listen to her speak, and to have been able to give her something I made, something from the heart. She’s a very important person, not only to me, but to countless others and she’s someone who I see as an agent of change. Her ability to speak with clarity, positivity, and humour on difficult subjects inspires me hugely. We aren’t alone in this world. One human act can one day affect all. ♡
"I always reference "Mad Max" when I think about what I want to wear. But it’s a fine line between that and "Edward Scissorhands"."
i just want more fucking stories where disabled characters survive the whole time and also don’t get fucking cured
so that a disabled kid can read a book and see themselves coming out of it alive and as they are because that is fucking important
parents who vaccinate their children without their consent are terrible parents, no exceptions.
parents who let their children die of completely preventable diseases because they think 8 year olds are capable of making their own medical decisions are terrible parents. no exceptions
